A Luxurious Night and Day With Fine Dining

A Luxurious Night and Day With Fine DiningSoo’s Michelin-quality eight-course meal is a powerhouse of flavour combinations, all from fresh food.

When you arrive at the Maidla Nature Resort, the first thing you notice is the parking area. It’s small. This is because this former manor complex is very private. Only three couples can spend the night here at a time, and the three luxury villas are nowhere near each other. Dinner will be at the Soo Restaurant, which is mentioned in the Michelin Guide for a very good reason. Perhaps best of all is that immediately upon arrival, you’re greeted by your own personal “house fairy”, but I would describe these people more as genies, without a lamp or bottle. Your wish is their command!

More private than a five-star hotel

After checking in you’ll be guided to your villa of choice, all designed by Estonian architects, and all blending perfectly into the surrounding nature. The Kaseke villa with a rooftop terrace overlooks a bog, the Poku villa has a sauna and outdoor tub, and the Käbi villa has a Jacuzzi. All three are only accessible via your own private boardwalk, and all three have a small, tastefully adorned kitchenette. All modern amenities are of course included, and the views from the bedroom windows will guarantee the deepest sleep you’ve had in years.

The Käbi villa is one of three available to guests, each with its own uniquely exquisite view.

Lots to do and see during your visit

The package deal includes a tour of the Maidla Manor, which is roughly 500 years old. Its stories, architecture, and general aura are worth at least an hour of your time. There is a private network of hiking trails throughout the nature resort. While Maidla doesn’t offer spa services themselves, they will happily organise it for you, because…they’re genies. Any wish you have.

Eight-course intimate dinner

Oliver Saaremäel is a name you’ll be hearing very often in the near future. This chef’s creations are simply something any lover of fine cuisine must experience, and the Soo Restaurant at Maidla is the only place you can find him.

Dinner at the Soo Restaurant is by reservation only, and this must be done at least a day in advance so the chef knows what to prepare especially for you. You don’t have to be an overnight guest to enjoy dinner, either!

Maidla Nature Resort and Soo Restaurant are just under an hour’s drive south from Tallinn.
