Live Performance of Monty Python Member Eric Idle

Few comedy troupes have had a global cultural impact, and out of those few stands one high above the others: Monty Python, of course. Arguably the most popular and influential film made by the group is “Monty Python’s Life of Brian” from 1979. It’s also somewhat of a musical, and while the theme of the film might be satirical in nature, the song made timeless in the film is one that is hard to forget, even if you don’t know the lyrics. That song is “Always Look on the Bright Side of Life”, and is the title of this comedy tour.

Eric Idle, of the original cast, is coming to Tallinn on 20 April—by American date standards this would be 4.20—to perform a solo comedy show in Alexela Concert Hall. Expect more songs you can’t get out of your head, “inappropriate wisdom”, and naturally the wittiest humour one can imagine. This one-man show has been met with huge success in the UK and Oceania, and now it’s coming to Scandinavia and Estonia.

The performance will also include one fart joke.

Eric Idle, 82, is an English actor, comedian, songwriter, musician, screenwriter, and playwright. In addition to being a member of Monty Python, he was also a member of the Rutles, a parody band of The Beatles. Monty Python is known for their “Flying Circus” television comedy series from 1969–1974, and two other wildly popular films: “Holy Grail” from 1975, and “The Meaning of Life” from 1983. Idle is also a Grammy Award winner.

Tickets are available here, and doors open, and the show starts respectively at 6, 7. On 4.20.
