1–28 February Maitsev Tartu restaurant month, Tartu
Throughout the entire month, Tartu’s top restaurants offer delicious three-course special menus created by their chefs for €35–38, also available in vegetarian versions.
3 February Interpreters of Music Gala Concert, Tallinn
Winners of Estonia’s Art Music Performer of the Year Award—mezzo-soprano Karis Trass of the Estonian National Opera and pianist Ivari Ilja—present a programme featuring Brahms, Chopin, and works by Estonian composers. The concert also includes the world premiere of Tõnu Kõrvits’s piano composition “Ondines”, dedicated to Reijo Kiilunen, founder of the Finnish label Ondine.
3–8 February DocPoint Documentary Film Festival, Tallinn
Estonia’s edition of the well-known Helsinki festival brings socially and politically engaged documentary films to Tallinn. Highlights include the premiere of “Kaapelit on (viel) autos,” a film following the touring life of the Estonian talharpa duo Puuluup, celebrated with a special live concert on Friday, 6 February, at Uus Laine in Kalamaja.
4–5 February Dance and Music Evenings, Pärnu and Tartu
A captivating audiovisual event combining masterworks of classical organ repertoire, contemporary Estonian compositions for saxophone, and expressive dance choreographed and performed by ballet dancer Ketlin Oja.
6 February Hunt Live at Amigo, Tallinn
Before the historic Amigo nightclub beneath Hotel Viru closes after more than 30 years of nightlife history, there is one last chance to experience its atmosphere. Singer–songwriter Andrus Muld, known as the pop artist Hunt, will give what is expected to be the venue’s final live performance.
6–7 February European Sauna Marathon, Otepää
A playful sauna-themed carnival and competition where teams from 20 countries attempt to visit as many saunas as possible in the Otepää area within six hours. Points are awarded not only for speed but also for costumes, team spirit, and bonus challenges in “secret saunas”.
7 February Full Moon Feast, Lake Peipus
A cheerful and popular alternative to an ordinary winter Saturday night. Along the famous Onion Route, more than 30 catering spots and home restaurants stay open late, offering hearty foods, snacks, and entertainment until midnight.
7–8 February Alutaguse Ski Marathon, Pannjärve
A two-day cross-country skiing celebration in Eastern Estonia, known for its reliable snow conditions. Participants can choose between 43 km and 21 km classic-style distances, an all-women’s freestyle event, now in its second year, with 9 km and 21 km options, and atmospheric 10 km and 21 km night races lit only by headlamps.
8 February Hollywood Music Experience, Pärnu
An international orchestra with vocalists known from “The Voice” and “X-Factor” present over two hours of iconic and beloved film music from Hollywood. The programme features songs made famous by Adele, Lady Gaga, Celine Dion, and many others, as well as well-known instrumental themes. The concert tour continues the following week to Jõhvi, Tallinn, and Tartu.
8 February Guided Tour of Linnahall, Tallinn
The Estonian Centre for Architecture offers an English-language guided tour inside Linnahall, the monumental but long-closed cultural venue by Tallinn’s harbour region. Built as a showcase arena for the 1980 Moscow Olympics, Linnahall has since become an architectural curiosity, and even a film location, appearing in the opening scene of the action movie “Tenet”. The tour provides a rare opportunity to explore areas normally inaccessible to the public.
