Dive Into the World of Fairytales at New Recycled Art Exhibition

The theme of this year’s Give New Life exhibition is the world of fairytales. In fairytales, rules do not apply—imagination guides the storyteller. In a single moment, heroes from different eras may meet, and every dream can come true. The exhibition is open until 8 March 2026.

In the exhibition, the artists act as storytellers who write their own stories into their artwork. Where the works lead the viewer depends on how willing the viewer is to embark on a journey into the world of fairytales.

In the Give New Life exhibition series, the works of art are made from recycled materials. This year’s exhibition includes works made from fire extinguishers, old instruments, plastic, spinning wheels, used newspapers, cutlery, broken glass, and many other materials.

The aim of the exhibition is to give new life to old objects and materials. During the creative process, the purpose and meaning of everyday objects change. The object no longer needs to fulfil the same function it once did. The curator of the art exhibition is Marie Virta.

More than 60 artists are participating in the group exhibition. Explore all exhibitions of the Museum of New Art here.
