Positron Exhibition for the Future

The Positron Youth Festival in the Field of Electricity is a two-day, science-themed event held in Tallinn’s Unibet Arena—formerly Saku Suurhall—that is intended to spark young people’s interest in electricity, energy, and future technologies. Part of the exhibition includes the “Tulevikutegijate jututuba”, or “Future-Makers’ Chat Room”, a series of video interviews with several individuals involved in these industries.

There will also be several workrooms offering hands-on experience and demos by companies involved in the energy industry. Attendees can participate in practical tasks designed to get them interested in various new professions and possible careers.

At Positron, there will also be fascinating presentations by top experts in the field of electrical power grids, renewable energy, and cutting-edge technologies. Roundtable discussions as well as panel-style discussions will be held, and visitors are warmly invited to participate and ask questions.

There will be a theme park as well, allowing participants to see what the practical aspects of these industries are like. For example how to climb a power mast, and attach cables; welding; geodesy; and operating various types of machinery involved in such work, such as mobile lifting equipment.

Each day of the exhibition will also feature legendary inventor Aare Baumer from the Energy Discovery Centre as he demonstrates several technologies and explains how the world around us actually works.

The full programme for Positron is available in Estonian here.

Positron will take place on 17–18 October.
