Estonian Heritage Days 2025

Heritage Days focuses on how architecture is a means of preserving Estonia’s culture and identity. Anything from sleek skyscrapers to basic farmsteads can be a part of heritage. This year’s theme is “Window to the Past, Door to the Future”.

Tallinn’s Old City Harbour will offer a tour on 13 September at 11:00. Advanced registration is required, and it will also show the new harbour opened in 2021 that extends far into the water.

“A Modern Take on the Medieval Tallinn Town Hall” will offer guests the opportunity to explore the interior of this fascinating and historical building on Town Hall Square. Registration is available here.

The Rebala Centre Museum will have a series of special events titled “Bridges of Time in the Wind”. This museum focuses on prehistoric life in Estonia. Located near Tallinn in Jõelähtme.

Maarjamäe Palace will host an event titled “Behind the Scenes: How Is a Heritage Exhibition Created”. Guests will be able to see exactly how a new exhibition is built, how items are chosen for display, and of course how the architecture of the venue itself plays a role.

If you’ve ever wanted to see the inside of a Soviet-era nuclear bunker, go here to register for a tour of an extremely large bunker in Kose, south of Tallinn.

There will also be a tour of Peter the Great’s house.

Several other tours and events will also take place in conjunction with Estonian Heritage Days 2025. A full list is available here, but keep in mind that spaces are limited, so make your reservations soon!
