XXI Tallinn Chamber Music Festival—”Love Letters”Anna-Liisa Bezrodny

Everyone falls in love at least once in their lives, and the world’s greatest composers are no exception. The theme of the XXI Tallinn Chamber Music Festival is “Love Letters”, because the music performed at the eight concerts will be based on the actual love letters of the likes of Beethoven, Händel, Brahms, Mozart, and so many more. This festival has risen in prominence enough to have been awarded the European Festivals Federation Quality Label 2024–2025, putting it on par with the most culturally significant festivals of Europe.

Aficionados of chamber music, as well as people with no experience whatsoever but who want to expand their horizons, are welcome to attend the concert series. The director of the festival is internationally acclaimed Estonian violinist Anna-Liisa Bezrodny, for the third year in a row. This guarantees that the concerts are presented as an artistic whole, providing audiences with a unique and unforgettable experience.

In addition to the likes of Wagner, Chopin, Schumann, Tchaikovsky, Schubert, and more, the resident composer is Estonia’s own Mihkel Kerem, who will present his latest commissioned work, a violin sonata dedicated to the festival’s director, who will herself perform it at the final concert. This will be the world premiere for this sonata.

Venues will be Tallinn’s Town Hall for several of the concerts, Swedish St Michael’s Church, and Fotografiska Tallinn. The complete programme in English for the Tallinn Chamber Music Festival is available here, and tickets for the various concerts are available here.
