Jeff Arcuri’s Comedy Concert

You might not know the name Jeff Arcuri, but you should, if you appreciate good stand-up comedy. The Michigan-born comedian has been a regular performer at the world-renowned Comedy Cellar in Manhattan, often referred to as the “Harvard of Comedy Clubs”. He has also appeared on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” and “Jeff Ross Presents Roast Battle”.

Widely known for crowd work, Arcuri invites the crowd to participate in his act. His natural charm disarms audiences, who are then thrilled with the witty and immediate responses and come-backs Arcuri makes on the spot.

If you are not that familiar with stand-up comedy, clearly you are not from Finland, home of one of the most famous newish comedians, Ismo Leikola, who has also performed to sold-out audiences in the same venue where Arcuri will perform. Stand-up comedy is a mix of written material performed live, and spontaneous riffing off the crowd. While Leikola is known more for his act, Arcuri is known more for his crowdwork, as previously mentioned. This guarantees that each show will be unique, and audiences never know what could happen, or where the topics and subjects discussed could take you.

Earlier this year, Arcuri married Katie Thurston of “Bachelor” and “Bachelorette” fame. As a woman on “Bachelorette”, the show ends with the engagement of the woman with the winner of the male contestants. Arcuri was not a contestant, but he probably would appreciate this joke.

Tallinn is just one stop on Jeff Arcuri’s “Whole Wide World Tour”. As the success of comedy shows largely also depends on the audience, it can be said with certainty that due to Estonia’s 15-year history of live stand-up comedy, the audience will be wonderful, which means you can expect to laugh until it hurts. Tickets and more information are available here.
