Celebrate Mother’s Day in Style

Mother’s Day in Estonia is this Sunday, 11 May. To mark the occasion, many restaurants are offering special brunches to honour the most important person in your life. Because let’s face it, if it weren’t for her, you wouldn’t be reading this. The Baltic Guide has chosen three great ways to spend a perfect Sunday with your mother.

Good food is a must, but a great view takes it over the top, and quite literally, too! The Teletorn Restaurant is atop Tallinn’s TV tower, the highest point around, and the view is simply stunning. The 360-degree view alone is reason to go there, but on Mother’s Day, the restaurant is featuring a Latin American theme, titled “Mother’s Day Fiesta Brunch”. Tapas, mojo, quesadillas, seafood, churros, and so much más!

Adding to the atmosphere, so high up in the atmosphere, is the Latin American band Duo la Luna. After brunch, you can also tour the Teletorn itself with your mother. Maybe she isn’t interested in rappelling over the side from the top viewing platform, but you never know. The TV tower by the way has the highest open viewing platform in all the northern countries. Tickets and more information are available here.

While perhaps not as high up as the Teletorn, the restaurant on the top floor of Fotografiska still offers quite a view of the city. Fotografiska’s Mother’s Day Brunch offers lucky visitors excellent tastes from around the world. The interior of the restaurant is particularly inviting, worthy of the art and photo galleries on the other floors. More information and reservations are available in Estonian here.

If you’re in the mood for something a little later in the day with your mother, there is a special concert and dinner in the Vatican. Not the one in Rome of course, but the one across the street from the Viru Gates. The concert will feature Stefan, of Eurovision fame, and a wide selection of delicious food. Doors open at 15:00, and the concert begins at 17:00. More information and tickets are available here.
