Celebrate International Women’s Day, Indian-style

International Women’s Day is this weekend, and what better way to celebrate it than by uniting with women from around the world, and experiencing an evening full of exciting activities, networking, food, culture, and more? Saturday’s event in Tallinn is at the Park Inn from 16–19, and Sunday’s event in Tartu is at the Tähtvere Open Women Centre, also from 16–19.

The back-to-back events in Tallinn and Tartu will feature talks from local mental health experts (Estonia is pretty cold and dark in winter!), and women’s empowerment. Attendees can also enjoy traditional Bharatanatyam dances, as well as Estonian singing. There will be “no-fire cooking sessions” presenting a fusion of Indian and Estonian cuisine, as well as other fun activities, such as learning some basic Hindi and Estonian words and terms. English and Estonian will be the main languages of communication.

The Indian–Estonian Women’s Friendship Association (IEWS) is a non-profit organisation for women of all walks of life, intended to promote belonging, inspiration, and strong cultural ties. The IEWS has several other similar events, symposia, and workshops throughout the year in Tallinn and Tartu. Get your tickets to this year’s International Women’s Day event with IEWS in Tallinn here, and in Tartu here!
