Estonia’s industrial production remains steady in November

 

In November 2024, industrial production in Estonia remained largely stable compared to the same month in 2023, with a slight decrease of 0.1 per cent, according to Statistics Estonia. The manufacturing sector showed a positive growth of 1.5 per cent, while mining saw a 2.3 per cent decline, and electricity production experienced a significant drop of 15.3 per cent.

Notably, output in several manufacturing industries increased, including food products (up by 7.8 per cent), fabricated metal products (up by 5.8 per cent), and electrical equipment (up by 20 per cent). However, certain sectors faced reductions, such as wood manufacturing (down by 3.4 per cent) and motor vehicles, trailers, and semi-trailers (down by 21.2 per cent).

Exports played a significant role, with 68.4 per cent of manufacturing production being sold abroad. Overall, sales of manufactured goods grew by 0.8 per cent compared to November 2023, with export sales rising by 5.3 per cent, though domestic sales declined by 7 per cent.

When compared to October 2024, industrial production saw a seasonally adjusted increase of 2.8 per cent, with manufacturing output rising by 2.7 per cent. In the energy sector, electricity production decreased by 8.6 per cent, and heat production dropped by 9 per cent.
