Tartu Christmas City opened at the end of November on Town Hall Square and will be welcoming visitors until January 5. The festive venue offers plenty of activities, including three cafés serving hot drinks and food. The cafés are open from 4 to 9 pm Monday through Thursday, from 4 to 10 pm on Fridays, and from 10 am to 10 pm on weekends.
Unlike traditional wooden huts, Tartu’s Christmas Town features beautifully lit glass pavilions. Inside, visitors can explore exhibitions, enjoy art and science displays, participate in workshops, listen to music, and savour delicious café offerings.
When the weather gets cold enough, an ice rink will be set up around the Kissing Students statue, which will be open until March or as long as the winter weather lasts. On select days, children can also enjoy sleigh rides (10 euros, free for children under 3) or pony rides (5 euros). For more information and the full schedule, visit the Christmas City website.
