05.09.2024–30.03.2025 Longing for Lost Space. Sirja-Liisa Eelma exhibition, Kadriorg Art Museum, Tallinn

Sirja-Liisa Eelma’s exhibition “Longing for Lost Space” explores the poetics of space, silence, and timelessness, drawing inspiration from 19th-century Biedermeier interiors and historic paintings by Carl Sigismund Walther. Through minimalist, site-specific works, Eelma creates a bridge between the past and present, blending her meditative art with historical references.

 

12–20.10 Lahemaa Restaurant Week with friends, around Lahemaa

Lahemaa Restaurant Week invites food lovers to explore the flavours of the Lahemaa region. This year, eight restaurants will be offering dishes inspired by autumn ingredients and the local culinary traditions of Northern Estonia. Participants include manor restaurants like Vihula, Sagadi, and Palmse, as well as charming venues like Vergi Harbour’s Wirkes, Hara Harbor Resto, the home restaurant MerMer, Valgejõe Wine Villa and Anija Manor Caffee.

 

14.10.2024–18.04.2025 Ballet “Cinderella”, Tallinn, Tartu & Narva

The Estonian National Opera presents a new production of Cinderella by choreographer Cristiano Principato, which will combine dancers from four leading European ballet companies with the Estonian National Ballet. The ballet, based on Charles Perrault’s fairy tale, blends Prokofiev’s magical music with classical and neoclassical choreography.

 

15.10 The Italian Tenors – Viva La Vita, Tallinn

As part of the “Viva La Vita” tour, the vocal trio The Italian Tenors will perform Italian opera arias as well as well-known pop songs. The trio includes tenors Evans Tonon, Bruno Almeida and Luca Sala. The concert programme includes a number of famous songs such as “Caruso”, “Time to Say Goodbye” and “Hallelujah”. The main emphasis will be on Italian love songs and opera asias, which the trio will perform with a live band.

 

16.10 My Winehouse Tribute to Amy Winehouse, Pärnu Concert Hall, Pärnu

English singer Laura Jane Butler will perform the music of Amy Winehouse, bringing to the stage well-known songs such as “Back to Black”, “Valerie”, and “Rehab”. Butler has also received acclaim from Winehouse’s parents, who have praised her performances. She will be accompanied at the concert by instrumental group Light Music Band.

 

17–19.10 iDeeJazz, Tartu & Narva

The festival, which started in Tartu in 2011, will bring first-class performers from Italy, France, Spain and Germany, as well as the best Estonian jazz musicians. Jazz lovers in Tartu can enjoy the concerts at the Estonian National Museum (ERM), while the Narva concerts will take place at the newly renovated Narva Town Hall and UT Narva College.

 

18.10 TRENTEMØLLER, Helitehas, Tallinn

Danish musician Anders Trentemøller will take listeners into a world of captivating soundscapes and melodies at his concert in Tallinn. His work, including his latest album Memoria, explores contrasting themes of light and darkness. From his successful debut album “The Last Resort” Trentemøller’s career has taken him on several popular world tours.

 

18–19.10 Superorganism, Tartu

“Superorganism” is an international exhibition curated by representatives from 17 European countries, that explores the concept of a superorganism beyond its biological roots. This event portrays society as a living organism, highlighting the connection between collective existence and individual identity. Featuring works by 25 artists from the “Magic Carpets” residencies between 2021 and 2024, the exhibition includes a variety of mediums such as photography, installations, performances, and videos. Under the slogan “We are all a superorganism,” it emphasises the shared responsibility for the future of our planet.

 

19.10 EMTA JAZZ 20. Jubilee Gala, Tartu

The EMTA JAZZ 20 gala l will bring together nearly 40 faculty and alumni in six unique ensembles. Since 2004, EMTA has shaped the Estonian jazz music landscape by training over 100 active musicians, and the gala will see performances by many of them including renowned artists such as Kadri Voorand, Raul Sööt and Kristjan Randalu.

 

05.07–27.10 The Mystery of Banksy “A Genius Mind”, Tallinn

“The Mystery of Banksy – A Genius Mind” exhibition presents more than 200 reproductions of artworks by the elusive graffiti artist, celebrated for his thought-provoking and boundary-challenging creations. The exhibition encompasses a variety of media, including graffiti, photographs, sculptures, video installations, and prints on multiple surfaces, providing a deep insight into Banksy’s artistic vision. Although not officially sanctioned by Banksy, the exhibition honours his impactful career and distinctive use of art as a means of social critique.
