Tõrva Fire Days: The most fiery event of the year

Tõrva Fire Days will take place from July 17 to 21. This annual festival unfolds against the picturesque backdrop of the lakes and forest trails of Tõrva in south Estonia, offering a rich choice of cultural, sports, and leisure activities suitable for all ages.

The festival kicks off with a diverse lineup of events spread across multiple venues. Highlights include the renowned “Tõrva RattaÖÖ” night bike ride, the family-oriented “Helme kandi päev” featuring performances by local artists, and various sports competitions like orienteering and football championships. For those inclined towards cultural immersion, guided tours at the Mulgi Experience Centre offer insights into local folklore and traditions, complemented by workshops focusing on mental health awareness and the Mulgi language.

A standout feature of Tõrva Fire Days is the revival of “Tõrva Loits” on July 20, a spectacular outdoor performance integrating fire, water, music, and visual arts.

Throughout the festival, visitors can take part in a variety of activities. From SUP yoga sessions on Riiska Lake to disc golf tournaments and interactive workshops at Taagepera Castle’s “Alice in Wonderland” park, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Evening entertainment includes outdoor cinema screenings and concerts.

The event culminates on July 21st with leisurely activities such as open saunas at Riiska Lake and a jazz concert by the French trio Suzanne, providing a relaxing conclusion to five days of celebrations.
