Step back in time at Pärnu Hanseatic Days

Pärnu Hanseatic Days will take place from June 28-30, in Pärnu, Estonia. The event invites visitors to step back in time to the medieval era, where you can enjoy a market, live performances, take part in classic tournaments, and much more.

The festival kicks off on Friday with a procession down Rüütli Street at noon, followed by an official opening ceremony at 12:30 PM. Over the three days, visitors can explore a medieval market, participate in archery and axe-throwing tournaments, and enjoy a variety of performances. Highlights include music from international bands such as Virelai from Denmark and Pipers of Transylvania from Romania, as well as local acts like Spellmanslag from Pärnu.

Children can engage in soft sword fighting in the Rüütliküla area, while food lovers will delight in the Hungarian area, where goulash cooking demonstrations and tastings will take place. The Punane Torn (Red Tower) will host historical storytelling sessions and animated films about Pärnu’s past.

Don’t miss the unique opportunity to dance to medieval tunes in the Hollóének Hungarica dance room and enjoy various cultural activities and workshops throughout the festival grounds.

Pärnu Hanseatic Days is a weekend of historical experiences, lively performances, and family-friendly activities that celebrate the rich heritage of the Hanseatic period in Estonia.
