The popular RUA street art festival will take place in Elva municipality this week – May 27 to June 1. Artists from all over Europe will decorate 11 walls in Elva itself as well as 6 nearby villages.
The street art festival, which is taking place for the 7th time, is part of the main programme of events for Tartu’s year as the European Capital of Culture in 2024.
The event will begin today, May 27, with the 11 artists beginning to create their works in the city of Elva as well as the nearby villages of Rõngu, Annikoru, Valguta, Puhja and Aakre. From May 30 to June 1 there will also be a street art camp for youngsters in the village of Rõngu.
On June 1, it will be possible to tour all of the completed works with the artists – although you will need your own vehicle. There will also be a community wall painting workshop as well as a stencil workshop for children.
You can learn more about the festival, and the artists taking part here, or on the events official Facebook page.
