Kalamaja Days 2024 will be held this weekend (May 18-19) in the charming Kalamaja District of Tallinn. The popular annual festival aims to foster community spirit by focusing solely on Kalamaja residents, businesses, and organisations. Unlike previous years there will be no external performers or street fairs, instead, the spotlight will be on local talent and gatherings.
Designed as a family-friendly, alcohol-free, and apolitical event, Kalamaja Days seeks to strengthen neighbourhood bonds and enhance the local environment.
Saturday’s events include activities at the Teoteater courtyard, fairs in Kalma Park, and engaging programmes at the Kalamaja Museum and library. Both Kalamaja School and Gustav Adolf Gymnasium will be open to visitors. The day will conclude with a long table party on Vana-Kalamaja square. Everyone being invited to bring their own food and drinks.
The programme on Sunday features courtyard cafes and fairs, allowing locals to sell products and entertain in their gardens. The day includes the traditional Children’s Race and a bus tour for those with mobility issues.
