May Day market at the Estonian Open Air Museum

On May Day (May1), there is a programme for the whole family at the Estonian Open Air Museum in Tallinn. A spring market will be held from 10 am to 4 pm, where you can buy traditional peasant products, food, and handicrafts on site.

In the old days, spring was a busy time in the Estonian countryside. The children got time off from school in May to help with the sowing and in the barn. On May Day, a new Shepard’s Trail will be opened, which tells what life was like for children long ago on Estonian farms.

Entrance is free with a museum card or Tallinn Card. Otherwise, the family ticket to the Estonian Open Air Museum costs 32 euros. A single adult ticket costs 16 euros and a concession costs 10 euros.

You can find out more about the event on the official Estonian Open Air Museum website here
