Two new exhibitions open at the Pärnu Museum of New Art

The annual exhibition of the Estonian Association of Artists entitled “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” is an exceptionally cheerful and colourful exhibition, where well over a hundred members of the association present their latest works at the Pärnu Museum of New Art (MONA).

Painter Jaan Elken selected the works for the annual painters’ exhibition. These include pieces from the likes of Uno Roosvalt, Evi Tihemets, and Tiiu Rebane. Starting this spring, MONA intends to present the works of contemporary artists as well those who lived a hundred years ago or more.

As part of this the paintings of Estonian artist Lydia Nirk, who graduated from Pallas Art School in 1936, are also on display in the adjoining exhibition “Estonia Yesterday and Today”.

The opening of both exhibitions was held at Pärnu Museum of New Art (MONA) on Saturday, April 6, and they will remain on display until May 26.
