The annual Food Film Festival begins tomorrow. A total of 7 different documentary films will be shown throughout the five day long festival. This year, films will be shown in both Tallinn and Tartu.
The Food Film Festival, which began in 2019, is unique in the Nordic and Baltic region, being the only festival of its kind with a focus on food. At this year’s festival, the documentary films will take food lovers to the edge of the world and unexpected locations.
“Among other things, you can experience the move of the truly special restaurant Koks to Greenland in the movie “Restaurant on the edge of the world”, watch the internal workings of the world’s first prison restaurant in the movie “Welcome to Prison” and go on a journey through Ukraine in search of an authentic recipe for their national dish, in the movie “Borš. The secret ingredient,” shared Helen Saluveer, the co-founder of the festival.
The home of the festival, which will run from April 10 to 14, is Kino Sõprus in Tallinn. However, it will also be possible to watch the documentary “Restaurant on the edge of the world” at the Elektriteater in Tartu on Friday, April 12. All of the films during the festival will be screened with English subtitles.
You can learn more about the festival, documentaries being shown, and buy tickets on the official Food Film Festival website here (in Estonian).
