NATO Secretary General and European Commission President to attend Estonian Independence Day celebrations on February 24

This coming Friday, February 24, Estonia will celebrate the 105th anniversary of its independence. To mark the occasion, which also coincides with the first anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, NATO Secretary General, Jens Stoltenberg and European Commission President, Ursula von der Leyen will be in attendance.
On the invitation of Estonian Prime Minister, Kaja Kallas, NATO Secretary General, Jens Stoltenberg and European Commission President, Ursula von der Leyen, will be in Estonia on Friday, February 24.
As well as meetings, the guests will attend several events to mark the 105th anniversary of Estonia’s independence. These include the ceremonial raising of the Estonian flag in the Governor’s Garden of Toompea, laying wreaths at the foot of the War of Independence Victory Column, and taking part in the parade of the Defence Forces on Freedom Square.
Estonia’s independence day celebrations also coincide with the first anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
