An international nude art exhibition “Man & Woman: Dream” has opened at the Pärnu Museum of New Art

The exhibition “Man & Woman: Dream” was opened on June 9 at the Pärnu Museum of New Art (New Art Museum). The curator of the exhibition is Mark Soosaar.

The Museum of New Art celebrates its 30th anniversary with an exhibition that believes in the victory of love over evil.

“We live in a world where nightmares have become a reality. And that a nightmare can’t just be shaken away when you open your eyes. Or can it? What if beautiful art helps. Perhaps art can create an imaginary bridge to a new world where every flower, butterfly, bird and human can be born, live and die under a caressing sun,” says Mark Soosaar in the exhibition’s press release.

Artists include Norwegian painter Odd Nerdrum, who is influenced by Rembrandt’s works, Šarūnas Sauka from Lithuania, who is redeveloping the world of Hieronymus Bosch, and Rafal Olbinski, who works in America. In addition to them, artists from Lithuania, Ukraine, Chile, Finland and Estonia are involved.

The full list of artists in the exhibition are Odd Nerdrum (Norway), Rafal Olbinski (Poland, USA), Marina Škarupa (Ukraine), Šarūnas Sauka (Lithuania), Mykolas Sauka (Lithuania), Ruta Jusionyte (Lithuania), Francisco Sepulveda (Chile), Christoffer Relander ( Finland) and Estonian artists Jüri Arrak, Jaak Arro, Merike Estna, Erki Kannus, Eve Kruuse, Johanna Mudist, Lemming Nagel, Alina Orav, Jaan Paavle, Pusa, Berit Talpsepp-Jaanisoo and Anton Vill.

The exhibition “Man & Woman: Dream” is open until August 28, 2022.
