Tori Amos is coming to Tallinn’s Alexela Concert Hall on 27 May with her tour “In Times of Dragons”. The acclaimed American singer, songwriter, and pianist is in the midst of her broader European and North American tour in connection with her upcoming album of the same title. Special guest Isaac Levi will also perform. Tallinn is one of the final stops on the European leg of her tour.
Tori Amos emerged as one of the defining alternative musicians of the 1990s following the release of her breakthrough solo album “Little Earthquakes” in 1992. And cheers to you if you remember when music that wasn’t rock was called “alternative”! Known for combining intricate piano compositions with emotionally direct songwriting, Amos built an international following through albums such as “Under the Pink”, “Boys for Pele”, and “Scarlet’s Walk”. Her music frequently explores themes of identity, trauma, religion, femininity, mythology, and political anxiety. Over more than three decades she has remained an influential figure in alternative rock and singer–songwriter music, while also working in classical composition, theatre, and literary projects. In other words, she is quite talented, and not your modern pop star.
The Tallinn concert is expected to feature a mixture of classic material and newer songs from the “In Times of Dragons” project, so this concert won’t just be a best-of event. Reviews and fan discussions from the current tour emphasise the intimate atmosphere of Amos’s live performances, her constantly changing setlists, and the emotional intensity of her concerts. Audience members frequently note that no two performances are alike.
Doors open at 18:00, the concert starts at 19:00, and tickets are available here.
