2026 Tallinn Open—Kristjan Palusalu Youth Wrestling Tournament

The 2026 Tallinn Open—Kristjan Palusalu Youth Wrestling Tournament is a large international wrestling event taking place in Tallinn from 26–29 March. It will bring together young athletes to compete in different wrestling styles, including Greco-Roman, freestyle, and women’s wrestling. The tournament will be limited to 2500 athletes. Last year’s registration ended five weeks in advance because the maximum limit had already been reached.

The main competition runs from 27–29 March at the Unibet Arena—26 March is only for weigh-ins—with matches scheduled throughout the day from morning to evening. This tournament has been described as potentially the largest open wrestling tournament in the world, attracting a wide range of participants as well as audiences.

After the competition has concluded and all the awards ceremonies held, the event programme will also include an international training camp held from 30 March to 1 April in the same venue, offering further opportunities for athletes to develop their skills and train together.

Overall, the 2026 Tallinn Open combines high-level youth competition with international participation and training opportunities, making it one of the most significant wrestling events in the world for young athletes.

The tournament is named for Kristjan Palusalu, who won gold medals in the heavyweight category for both Greco-Roman and Freestyle Wrestling in the 1936 Berlin Olympics.

Food and drink will be available on site, and more information is available here. Tickets are sold at the door for €5 for adults and €3 for the youth ticket.
