 Balti Jaama Christmas Market

The Balti Jaama Christmas Market, opening on 28 November, transforms the historic Balti Jaama railway station area in Tallinn into a festive winter wonderland. Drawing on local tradition and wintry charm, the market combines seasonal stalls, artisanal goods, warm food, and holiday spirit right in the heart of the city. This is unquestionably a highlight of Estonia’s holiday season.

Vendors at the market will offer a diverse range of handmade crafts and gifts: from wooden toys and knitted woollens to glassware, candles, and traditional Estonian holiday treats. The market is a great place to find original Christmas presents, including locally crafted jewellery, ceramics, and festive ornaments. Many of the stalls also focus on eco‑friendly and local-design items, making it ideal for conscientious gift‑buyers.

Food and drink of course play a central role in the overall experience. Visitors can enjoy warm, seasonal gingerbread, roasted nuts, mulled wine, and spiced cider. Local producers will also sell smoked fish, cheeses, and sausages, offering authentic Estonian Christmas flavours. Street food and pop-up cafés serve as cosy spots to enjoy the festive atmosphere.

More than just a shopping market, Balti Jaama’s Christmas Market will feature live entertainment: carol singers, folk musicians, and small bands will perform throughout the month. There will also be activities for children, such as workshops, Christmas decorations, and family‑friendly performances.
