In addition to points, the beers were also evaluated with descriptive comments.
The seasonal beer selection has shifted from summer brews to warming winter products. Dark, roasted beers are usually slightly stronger than light summer drinks. However, their alcohol content remains lower than that of seasonal glögg. Traditional Baltic porters are bottom-fermented beers, like common lagers. The malts can also be partially caramelised, and spices such as coffee may be added.
In autumn, new winter beers also appear on the market, and we selected seven products from the selection at Tallinn Prisma for a blind tasting. Seven testers were allowed to give a maximum of 20 points for each beer. Dark beers are best served slightly cooler than room temperature, around fifteen degrees Celsius. At refrigerator temperatures, the flavors do not open up as well.
