The Largest Rural Expo in the Baltics

Estonia’s premiere agricultural expo has also become the largest in the Baltics, and focuses not only on farming-related themes, but includes forestry, gardening, and even food. This event in Tartu is a must-see for anyone interested in outdoor work, for professional reasons or just out of curiosity about how these industries work.

Maamess, translated directly as “land expo”, traditionally focuses on technology in agriculture. The latest innovations in tractors, the newest forestry techniques, and the most economically efficient practices for gardening will all be featured at the various exhibits and demonstrations.

This year’s event will have over 500 exhibits and demonstrations, and roughly 50,000 people are expected to attend from several countries. Large agricultural machinery such as combines, seeders, loaders, and tractors will be available to visitors for a close-up look. Brands such as John Deere, Finn, JCB, and even Mercedes-Benz and Lamborghini will be on display.

Much of the machinery at Maamess will showcase how automated and digital technologies can be incorporated into agriculture. One example will be a robot that not only mows the lawn in summer, but can also remove leaves in autumn, and clear snow in winter.

Livestock will also be featured at several booths. Innovations on milk production, reproduction, and more will be highlighted.

Various food exhibits and culinary demonstrations throughout the venue and the three days of the expo will guarantee visitors are not hungry. Maamess is also very child-friendly, and will have various events for children, including a Lottemaa-themed concert, which is a local but internationally famous theme park and film franchise.

Tickets to Maamess 2025 are available here for advance purchase at a discount, or at the gates to the event itself. More information about Maamess is available on their website. The entire event will take place at the Tartu Näitused (Tartu Expo Centre) grounds in Tartu.
