Open House Tallinn takes you to places where you can’t usually go

The annual architectural event Open House Tallinn will take place, this weekend (October 12 to 13). The event is designed to promote interest in architecture and urban design. During the weekend, various significant buildings, known for their architectural quality, will be open to the public.

Visitors can explore nearly 50 unique buildings around the city, including notable locations such as the College of Music and Ballet, the ERR Television Building, the Bank of Estonia, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The tours, conducted by architects, designers, and volunteers, will provide insights into the design and significance of these buildings.

In addition to exploring the buildings, visitors can participate in workshops. The “Lighting Design Workshop for Youth: My Room”, on Saturday,  encourages students in grades 7 to 12 to design their ideal bedroom lighting. Similarly, the “Lighting Design Workshop for Adults: My Living Room” invites participants to delve into the power of lighting in home environments. Participants will learn about lighting layers and design principles. The workshop will provide practical insights into creating the perfect atmosphere at home. Both workshops will be conducted by the Estonian Lighting Designers’ Association – Mariliis Kundla and Katrin Kivisikk.

For more details about the event and workshops, visit the official Open House Tallinn website.
