Want to run a marathon on the scenic streets of Tartu?

The Tartu City Marathon, a popular annual event that attracts runners from around the globe, will take place this Saturday, October 5. Participants can choose between three distances: a full 42 km marathon, 21 km half marathon, or 10 km race.

The festivities will kick off with the Friday Night Run, held the evening before the main race. This four-kilometre run through Tartu’s city centre is a laid-back, community-focused event that welcomes people of all ages and fitness levels.

Saturday’s marathon route winds through and around the city of Tartu and consists of just one lap, offering runners a constantly changing view of the scenery.

For those unable to attend in person, the Tartu Marathon can also be completed virtually up until October 13. Participants can run at any time they wish, on any route, even the official Tartu Marathon course.

In addition to the main races, children’s runs will be organised for the youngest participants. There are no winners in the kids’ race; the focus is on participation and enjoying the experience together. The entry fee is 4 euros, and each child receives the number one as their race number. At the finish, every child will be awarded a medal and a sweet treat.

Registration for all events is still available on the Tartu Marathon website.
