The Tall Ships Races will bring over 60 vessels to Tallinn Dar Młodzieży

From July 11 to 14, Tallinn will host the popular annual Tall Ships Races, an international sailing event that this year will feature over 60 vessels across three key ports: Vanasadam, Lennusadam, and Noblessner.

The fleet includes vessels with rich histories, such as the Jens Krogh, a Danish ketch built in 1899, and the Urania, a Dutch yacht launched in 2004. The largest ship attending is Dar Młodzieży, a Polish three-masted vessel measuring 95 meters in length and 44 meters in height, showcasing the scale and grandeur of these maritime crafts.

Visitors can board many of these ships, particularly those over 30 meters in length. The largest vessels will be docked at Vanasadam’s cruise terminal, with Lennusadam and Noblessner hosting a range of other noteworthy ships. This setup allows attendees to explore the ships’ decks and learn about their construction and history.

The event’s schedule includes various activities. On July 12th at 4 pm, a crew parade will take place, moving from Towers’ Square to Lennusadam. This parade will feature crews in their uniforms, providing a glimpse into the diverse cultures and traditions of the participating nations.

In addition to the ship tours, the event offers several interactive opportunities. Visitors can take part in boat tours around the harbour, and there will be dragon boat races. The event also features speedboat stunt rides and jet ski activities.

The Tall Ships Races is committed to sustainability. The event uses only reusable food and drink containers and promotes waste sorting and recycling. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own reusable water bottles, with water stations available at all ports.

The event will conclude with a maritime parade on July 14, starting at Lennusadam at noon. This parade will include ships from the Muhu Väina regatta. Additionally, there will be a concert by Puuluup in Pirita on Saturday evening, followed by the Muhu Väina regatta on July 15 and 16.

For those planning to attend, detailed schedules and information on the participating ships can be found at Tall Ships Tallinn.
