“Mike Oldfield’s ‘Tubular Bells’ 50th Anniversary Tour Comes to Tallinn”

Celebrated English composer Mike Oldfield’s iconic “Tubular Bells” album turns 50 years this year. To mark the anniversary, there is a global tour. The next stop of which will be in Tallinn this evening, March 11.

At the age of 17, Mike Oldfield composed “Tubular Bells”, the best-selling instrumental album of all time. The opening track of which featured on the soundtrack of the legendary horror film “The Exorcist”.

Under the direction of Oldfield’s longtime collaborator Robin A Smith, an impressive ensemble will perform tracks from “Tubular Bells”, as well as other timeless hits such as “Moonlight Shadow”, “Summit Day”, “Family Man” and “Ommadawn”.

“Along with the musicians, it’s a real privilege to be performing this extraordinary work. It’s as fresh today as it was when Mike created it in 1971 – and I love having the chance to bring it to new audiences as well as those who, like me, are still captivated by it whenever they hear it,” shared Smith.

Tickets for the concert this evening (March 11) at the Alexela Concert Hall in Tallinn are still available to buy at Piletilevi.
