Over the past 2 or 3 years, the number of vegan restaurants and vegan options in restaurants and shops has grown immensely in Tallinn. Today, as a vegan traveller or a resident of Tallinn, you will be spoilt for choice and be able to get almost anything you need.
One big step forward to this was the opening this summer of Estonia’s first vegan supermarket on Tartu mnt in central Tallinn. The supermarket called RoheValik – which loosely translates as Green Choicein English – stocks many items that are missing in the main supermarkets and even bio shops in Tallinn and adds to the choice in many other areas.
Although the size of the store is comparable with a small convenience store, they stock almost everything you can imagine. From a wide selection of chocolates and sweets to frozen goods, meat substitutes, large refillable containers of nuts and dried fruits, household items and much more.
What is nice about RoheValik is that it feels a lot like the stores of yesteryear, where you are met with a greeting as you enter. RoheValik also has an online storewhere you can place an order and receive same-day delivery in Tallinn (depending on demand and time of order).
