The ever-popular Saaremaa Peony Festival has begun and will continue till June 30. This annual festival at the Saaremaa Peony Gardens is a celebration of the flower, beginning with the first bloom and continuing until the last petal falls. It’s the perfect destination for families and garden enthusiasts to enjoy fresh air and the breathtaking beauty of thousands of blooming peonies.
Spanning over 4 hectares, the festival area offers plenty of space for visitors to explore. The garden, designed in the style of an ancient Persian paradise garden, features symmetrical layouts and is home to both peonies and various edible plants like apple trees, blackcurrants, and elderberries. Visitors can stroll through several kilometers of picturesque walks, filled with vibrant peony blossoms and unique garden structures, including Japanese-English gardens and a peony-cut flower plantation.
At the festival, which showcases early, mid-season, and late-blooming peony varieties, you have the opportunity to purchase from the largest selection of peonies in Estonia. At the end of the festival, an exceptional peony variety will be awarded the gold medal for its extraordinary bloom.
