This weekend marks the official end of the festive period, and with it the last chance to visit some of the magical Christmas markets around the country. With Tallinn’s Christmas markets and Tartu’s Christmas City entering their last couple of days.
Tallinn’s Christmas market is still open during the Epiphany weekend (January 6–7). In the medieval milieu, it is easy to relax from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and enjoy the winter scenery of town hall square, the beautiful Christmas tree, and the unhurried atmosphere.
The Christmas Market offers a wide range of Christmas treats. Of course, mulled wine and Estonian Christmas food are things that must be experienced at least once a year. This year, all the tableware at the market will be recycled with a two-euro deposit, which you get back by returning the plates and cups to the return point.
Other Christmas markets still open in the city can be found in Rotermann and Balti Jaama Turg, which will also be closed after this weekend. Rotermann’s Christmas market is open until Saturday, January 6, while the Balti Jaama Turg Christmas Market will be closed on Sunday, January 7.
Tartu’s magical Christmas City will also be open until January 7.
