In mid-May, American singer-songwriter Zola Jesus will come to Estonia and perform two church performances, on May 15 at Niguliste Church in Tallinn and on May 16 at Tartu Jaani Church.
Zola Jesus, born Nika Roza Danilova, is a renowned singer, songwriter, and producer known for her unique musical style that fuses classical opera training with bold experimental sounds. Her work spans from industrial lo-fi explorations to groundbreaking experimental pop, as seen in acclaimed albums like Stridulum, Valusia, and Conatus. Her powerful vocals and emotionally charged music have earned her spots on some of the world’s largest festival stages and distinctive venues, including the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York.
Her latest album, Arkhon (2022) is a significant turning point in her career. It embodies a balance between strength and vulnerability, offering listeners a raw and inspiring glimpse into her artistic journey and philosophy. The album was created following a period of creative struggle, ultimately emerging as a testament to her artistic growth and innovative approach to music.
Tickets to both concerts are available in Fienta.
