Tallinn’s new central market (Keskturg) not to open until at least 2025

Even in the most optimistic scenario, the new central market (Keskturg) will not be completed and opened until at least 2025. With a more exact timetable becoming available when construction starts.
Since purchasing the property in 2019, the Astri Group (who also own Balti Jaama Turg in Telliskivi) have made a number of interim improvements to the market, such as renewing the parking area, improving the heating in the main building and placing a large blueprint of the design of the new market on its façade.
This approach is something that is likely to continue for the time being, “from the new year, we will focus on the preparation of the design of the new market building, but in the meantime, we are improving the market’s appearance to make the shopping experience as pleasant as possible,” stated Rain Parna, manager of Keskturg.
The architectural competition for the design of the new central market was won by KOKO Architects.
