Tallinn has a long-standing tradition of public saunas. The three saunas featured here are all over 80 years old and continue to provide a unique cultural experience.
Tallinn Sauna
Also known as Tartu Mnt Sauna, Tallinn Saun is located opposite the main Tallinn bus station. It is believed to be the oldest public sauna still in operation in Europe. The stove is gas-heated, and there is also a traditional sauna heater. The sauna features separate compartments and changing rooms for men and women.
Built in 1882, the sauna’s historic charm is visible in its brick-vaulted roof and crown lights. The men’s sauna is open daily, except Wednesdays, from 10 am to 9 pm. The women’s sauna is open on Mondays, Fridays, and Sundays, from 10 am to 9 pm. Snacks, drinks, and sauna equipment are available for purchase on site. The entry fee is 12 euros.

Raua Sauna
Raua Saun, operated by the City of Tallinn, has been in service since 1936. The large public sauna is powered by electricity and is open daily from 11 am to 9 pm. Men and women have separate facilities. There are also private saunas available for rent. The sauna has recently been renovated and now includes new showers, modern sauna rooms, and updated equipment. The price for a two-hour session in the public sauna is 8–10 euros, and a sauna whisk costs 5 euros.

Kalma Sauna
At the spacious Kalma Sauna, men enjoy the wood-fired sauna and steam room, while the women’s sauna features an electric heater.
Built in 1928, this attractive building has been renovated several times. The sauna also includes a small kiosk where you can buy refreshments, beer, snacks, sauna equipment, and sauna blankets. The saunas are open from Monday to Friday from 11 am to 10 pm, and on weekends, they are open from 10 am to 11 pm. Private sauna rentals for groups are available. The entry fee for the public sauna ranges from 12 to 18 euros.
