In October, the beginning of the oyster season is celebrated from New York to Denmark. On Saturday, October 15, this will extend to Tallinn, when it will host an oyster festival for the very first time.
More than 20 different varieties of oysters will be available. In addition to the classic way of eating, you will also be able to try them delicately fried. The festival includes sparkling wines, wines suitable for oysters and, surprisingly, also beers.
Experts will discuss prevailing and emerging trends in the oyster world. Every full hour there will be various shows and discussions related to the serving of oysters.
Oyster connoisseurs will provide training to willing visitors, where different types of oysters, areas where they are found and farming methods will be introduced. In addition to tasting different species, you will also get to learn how to evaluate freshness and learn about storing oysters.
In addition to oysters, you will be able to taste a variety of other exciting kinds of seafood and snacks at the festival.
The festival will end with a performance from Estonian singer Laura.
Tickets for the festival and more in-depth information about the event can be found on the Fienta ticketing portal here.
