Tallinn Old Town ice skating rink to open on Saturday

The traditional winter ice skating rink in Tallinn’s Old Town is set to open this Saturday (November 16). On the opening day, the rink will be open from noon until 10 pm, and for the first hour, both skate rental and skating will be completely free of charge.

This year’s skating season at the temporary rink will be launched by figure skaters Tatyana Bunina and Ivan Kuznetsov, who will perform a joint ice dance show. Paw Patrol will also be present for children, though it remains a surprise what exactly they will do!

The skating rink, located on Tallinn’s Harju Hill next to the Niguliste Church and Museum, will be open daily from 10 am to 12 pm, lasting until the end of March or early April, depending on weather conditions. The rink is illuminated, making it perfect for evening skating, and is particularly suitable for beginners and young children.

Skate rental prices range from 5.50 to 9.90 euros. The rental provides access to the rink for an hour, as well as free access to skating supports and helmets. Visitors are also welcome to bring their own skates.

Ticket prices range from 6 to 8 euros on weekdays (Monday to Thursday) and 8 to 9.90 euros on weekends (Friday to Sunday). Families of three or more receive a 15 per cent discount on tickets. Children under the age of 3 can skate for free, and pensioners can skate for free on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays between 10 am and 5 pm.

In addition to the Old Town rink, there will be several other outdoors skating rinks around Tallinn.
