Tallinn Botanic Gardens new exhibition introduces over 100 houseplants

Over 100 houseplants will be introduced at the Tallinn Botanic Gardens exhibition of indoor plants from April 20-28. New and exciting houseplants will be on display in addition to already familiar ones. There will also be excursions in the greenhouses focusing on houseplants and plant protection, and children will have the opportunity to plant their own houseplants in a workshop.

According to Urmas Laansoo, a botanist at the Tallinn Botanic Gardens and the curator of the exhibition, the exhibition will also feature new plants that do not have names yet in Estonia. In addition, several of the plants at the exhibition have never been displayed at the Botanic Gardens before. Next to the newcomers are familiar plants that can survive with little care and are a good fit for novice plant lovers.

“We need to appreciate having a green and healthy environment around us more and more. Houseplants make our rooms cosier and happier,” promises Laansoo.

Here is the programme for the remainder of the exhibition:

  • April 27 and 28 at 12 noon, Introduction to the exhibition (Urmas Laansoo)
  • April 28 at 1 pm, My First Houseplant workshop for children (Tiia Jaanus)
  • April 27 and 28 at 1 pm, Plant protection excursions (Pille Hermann)

Participation in the excursions and workshops is included in the price of a regular entrance ticket.
