Being famous for its university it will also be possible to visit the University of Tartu Library, the Estonian Students’ Society, the National Archives, plus the New and the Old Anatomical Theatre.
“Architecture is an integral part of our culture, and what better way to showcase Estonian architecture than in this year’s European Capital of Culture, Tartu? We want people to be more aware of the architectural values that enrich their urban space – our aim is to draw people’s attention to the stories that different buildings and places tell, both in the overall cityscape and in more specific architecture,” described Aleksander Tali, the producer of Open House Tartu and Tallinn.
