How and where to dispose of your Christmas tree in Estonia

It is traditional to take down your Christmas decorations and tree down on epiphany (January 6). But, how and where should you dispose of your tree in Estonia? Thankfully, there will be many special collection points in cities around Estonia including Tallinn, Tartu and Pärnu where you can take your tree this January.

First and foremost, Christmas trees should not be placed whole or in pieces into garbage containers or placed beside them. However, it is possible to arrange for it to be collected by the waste collector or for an apartment association to arrange a temporary container for Christmas trees. If you have no means of transportation, either of these two options is your best choice.
