For more than 40 years the annual Tartu Rattaralli road bike festival has brought thousands of riders to the city. The main event is the 126 km race, however, there are shorter races over 56 and 17 km, as well as races for children.
Today, May 25, marks the beginning of the 43rd edition of the Tartu Rattaralli cycling festival. The two-day event will kick off this morning at 11 am with children’s races over 500m, 1 km, and 5 km. The kid’s races are the biggest of their kind in the world. At 2 pm there will also be a vintage bike cruise.
Sunday, May 26, will begin with the 17 km race, which will depart Tartu at 9:30 am. This will be followed by the 56 km race at 10 am. There will also be a 56 km long vintage race, that is specifically for riders with bikes manufactured before 1987.
The main event, the 126 km race, will depart at 11 am. The marquee race will take a large loop that starts and finishes in Tartu, but travels through Valgamaa and Põlvamaa as well as the county of Tartumaa. The 126 km race is also part of the UCI Gran Fondo World Series.
