Restaurants, bars and nightclubs to close at 11 p.m. as part of new restrictions

 

In Estonia, from Monday 1 November, public venues must be closed between 11pm and 6am. This means that all restaurants, bars, nightclubs, cinemas, theaters, concert venues, museums and exhibitions, as well as other leisure venues, must be closed by 11pm at the latest.

In addition, use of the corona pass/certificate has changed. Now, when presenting your proof of vaccination you must provide a valid identity document – for example, a passport or identity card.

Restrictions on non-vaccinated individuals have also been tightened since August. In Estonia, it is mandatory to wear a mask in all public spaces.

During the last day, 1,571 new coronavirus infections were diagnosed in Estonia, according to the Estonian Health Agency. A total of 196,951 coronavirus infections have been diagnosed in Estonia during the pandemic.

In Estonia, the incidence rate is now 1,694.6. The incidence rate shows how many infections have been diagnosed in the last 14 days per 100,000 inhabitants. Estonia currently has the highest incidence rate in the world.

There are currently 595 people in hospital, of which 54 are in intensive care. Ten patients with the virus died during in the past day. A total of 1,550 people have died in Estonia during the pandemic.

In total, 797,961 people have received at least one dose of the approved corona vaccines in Estonia. The population of Estonia is about 1,330,000.
