Cirque du Soleil has come to Tallinn

Yesterday evening saw the first of 5 performances of Cirque du Soleil’s inspect-inspired show “Ovo” at the Unibet Arena in Tallinn. Some tickets are still available for the remaining shows this weekend.

The world’s most famous circus, Cirque du Soleil, has arrived in Tallinn to a chorus of buzzing, chirping, and crackling. At the colourful and fun inspect-inspired show you will see leaping and tumbling crickets, a beautiful butterfly emerging from its cocoon, and flying scarab beetles – to name just three.

For hand balancer Kyle Cragle, who performs a mesmerizing and soothing display as a dragonfly, performing for the circus is a dream come true. “I went to watch Cirque du Soleil when I was 9 years old, and told my parents that is what I wanted to do”.

This passion for their art and drive for perfection is clear to see across all of the performers, including a diablo act who holds 9 world records. However, for Stuart Richie, the Stage Manager, their favourite act is the majestic areal straps. “I have seen the show around 1000 times, it remains my favourite.”

Linking together the acts is a sweet and funny story involving a fly, his egg (Ovo means egg in Portuguese) and a sassy ladybird who he falls in love with.

Tickets for the remaining 4 shows (on Friday and Saturday evenings, as well as Saturday and Sunday afternoon) are still available and can be bought on the Piletilevi ticketing portal here
