Travel by tram to the terraces of North TallinnA green terrace paradise is hidden inside a former industrial building.

Hop on tram 1 or 2 in front of Viru Keskus at the Hobujaama stop and take a terrace trip in Kalamaja and Kopli.

The first terrace stop is at the Baltijaam train station stop. Kalamaja’s largest and sunniest terrace can be found in Balti Jaama Turg. The sun shines on the terrace of the brewery restaurant Humalakoda on the second floor well into the evening.

Below it opens the lively party area of Kalamaja, where all kinds of outdoor events are organised during the summer. If you want to rock until the morning hours, you should go head to Telliskivi Loomelinnak.

The brewery restaurant has a wonderful view of both the old town and Telliskivi Loomelinnak.
Boheem’s sunny street terrace invites you to eat.

First refuelling in Kalamaja

Baar living room ät is located on the other side of the Baltijaam station stop. The street terrace of the bar is sunny until late in the afternoon. Live music is also sometimes on offer.

At the other end of Balti Jaama Turg, in front of the Telliskivi tram stop, there is a restaurant named Boheem. Until last summer, a huge linden tree provided shade for the relaxed street terrace. However, it unfortunately fell down in a storm. Now the sun shines unreservedly on the colourful terrace well into the afternoon. If you’re looking for a tan and you like crepes or delicious bruschetta, head here.

Kohalik spreads out into an old apple orchard, which can accommodate more people.

The rails lead inexorably towards Kopli

When you’ve had enough of Kalamaja’s hipster vibe, hop back on the tram and head forward to the Angerja stop. Next to the legendary Standard house, you can find the restaurant Odeon, which has a long terrace decorated with a sea theme that allows you to lounge in a deck chair and sip a refreshing drink before dinner. However, you should remember that the restaurant does not open its doors until five o’clock.

A stone’s throw away from the Odeon is the café-restaurant Kohalik, which opened a garden terrace in June. The outdoor area spreads far into a wild apple orchard. The facility, also known as the cotton factory and Sitsi factory, was one of Tallinn’s largest industrial centres in its time. The block’s old factory buildings are an attraction in themselves.

Kopli under the starry sky

When you’re done, continue your tram ride to the Marat stop, located on the side of the newly renovated Kase park. On the other side of the stop, you can see the SOS bar, at the back door of which, like a landmark, a waiter or the customers often sit with a cigarette.

Behind the bar opens Kopli’s own creative center, Põhjalatehas. The fun Botik bar has also found its home in the old industrial area, on its green courtyard and roof terrace theme parties are organised, movies can be watched under the starry sky, the unique atmosphere of the area can be enjoyed too.

Derevjaška is waiting opposite the end of the Kopli tram line. In addition to drinks and a covered terrace, the bar also offers very good small snacks.
