The Integration Foundation has announced that this week free language practice cafes will be opening across Estonia. The cafes will be in Tallinn, Maardu, Narva, Sillamäe, Kohtla-Järve, Jõhvi, Narva-Jõesuu, Tartu, Pärnu, and Valga. There is also an online café that is held twice a week.
“Language cafes are suitable for those language learners who find it difficult to participate in language learning on a weekly basis but want to receive support for independent learning and build up their courage and self-assurance in using Estonian,” explained Kätlin Kõverik, head of the Counselling Service at the Integration Foundation.
The focus of the session is on speaking practice, and the subjects discussed will include all manner of topics and situations encountered in daily life. This will include more simple topics such as introducing yourself, through to communicating with doctors and beyond.
The language cafes are recommended to anyone with an Estonian level of A2 or above.
For further information about the free language practice cafes, and to find a schedule of the cafes where you are, visit the Integration Foundation’s website here.
