Traffic on Filtri tee in Tallinn to be restricted on May 8 and 9
Text Mark Taylor

On May 8 and 9, police will be restricting traffic on Filtri tee between the bus station and Veskiposti tänav. Allowing only public transport and vehicles of local residents to pass through.
Roger Kumm, chief of the Police and Border Guard Board’s (PPA) Ida-Harju Police Station, stated in a city government press conference that more police would be out on the streets in connection with May 9.
The day usually sees more people on Filtri tee due to its location close to the Defense Forces Cemetery of Tallinn, which contains the Bronze Soldier memorial.
In previous years, cars have parked on the grass verges of the 6 lane highway, and then people have attempted to cross on foot, which is dangerous for both pedestrians and motorists. The security company guarding the cemetery will also be out in greater numbers on May 9.
The road will be closed to all those except local residents, and public transport vehicles between 9 am and 11 pm on both May 8 and May 9.
