This year’s Tallinn Winter Festival showcases young talent from all over EuropeT.O.S.C.A opera singing competition winner singer Jessica Pantarotto from Italy.

The Tallinn Winter Festival, organised each February, is a music festival where talented young musicians perform in front of audiences in the city’s wonderful concert halls. The venues for the concerts include Mustpeade Maja (The House of the Blackheads), Tallinn Town Hall, and the Swedish St. Michael’s Church. 20 percent of the festival’s box office proceeds are also given directly to charity.

The music foundation PLMF, founded by opera singer Pille Lill, has organised the Tallinn Winter Festival since 2006. This year top Estonian soloists will be heard along with T.O.S.C.A opera singing competition winner singer Jessica Pantarotto from Italy and Ukrainian and Spanish musicians. 20 percent of the proceeds of the festival will be directed to the “With Music for Ukraine” charity, which will use the funds raised to provide masterclasses for Ukrainian musicians.

The festival’s opening concert will be held today, February 13, at 3 pm in the Swedish St. Michael’s Church. The concert features music by Silvestrov, Barvinski, Rodin, Eller, and other composers.

This year’s festival will also reward a talented young musician with the “MUBA Talent 2024” award. This time the winner of the award, which is given out for the second time, will be selected at the closing concert of the Tallinn Winter Festival on February 23 in Mustpeade Maja.

Tickets for the entire festival programme can be found at Piletilevi.
