The Friendliest Restaurant in Tallinn

For those that have been to Estonia at least once or twice, you will know Estonian customer service can seem a little cold and distant at times – when compared to Western European and North American standards. This is not the case at Ülo, which has (probably) the friendliest and most knowledgeable watering staff you will find anywhere in Tallinn.

Not only will you be met with a happy and warming smile (which is definitely needed as the days start to get colder), they will even help you to find the most suitable place in the restaurant for your needs. My needs being a plug to work (there are a few in Ülo, but not too many).

The menu at Ülo is on the small side, but that is for a reason. All the dishes have been specifically crafted to enhance the taste experience. For vegans, you will be pleased to hear that almost everything on the menu is vegan, which is still quite rare for a restaurant in Tallinn.

Upon ordering, you will be given a chance to have Ülo’s homemade bread and dip, which we definitely recommend trying. The fact it is free is definitely an added bonus. The food is on par with some of the finest restaurants in Tallinn. Therefore, when you add that the prices are pretty standard for a normal restaurant in Tallinn, it is good value for money.

Ülo is located just a stone’s throw away from the trendy Telliskivi district that is filled with bars if you would like to continue your evening after a nice dinner. Ülo is open from 12-11 pm every day.
